MERRY CHRISTMAS 2021
Blessings to you all as we celebrate another Christmas and make the most of these final days of the year! Cheri and I are happy to report that we're doing quite well and we are so thankful for our family, our friends, and the many blessings we enjoy!
Cheri and I have had a good year! I've been transitioning toward the conclusion of my vocational ministry with Valley Christian Church. Last year I passed the Lead Pastor ministry torch and have since been serving in an assistant pastor role. My hours and responsibilities will be winding down to a close sometime in 2022. While ramping down at Valley, I've been building up my real estate business with Anderson Realty. It's been a fun and rewarding change of pace. I look forward to doing more in the year ahead.
Since last summer, Cheri has been working as a part-time children's ministry director at Valley. As you can imagine, she does a great job! She loves the kids and the kids love her. All those years of parenting and having her own childcare business have been a valuable asset to our church. We'll see what lies ahead as her retirement years approach. Cheri and I have really enjoyed making our house in Faribault a home. Together, we've done a ton of work on the place, and it really couldn't be any cozier. Of course, as long as God grants us life, there will always be more to do. :-)
What about our kids and grandkids? Thanks for asking. We were happy to be able to have two multi-day gatherings with the whole family in 2021. One was a getaway to a VRBO cabin up north last winter; the other was a summer gathering at our home in Faribault. Whether it's with all of them or some of them, we love getting together as often as possible. We love them so, and each and every one of them is a source of blessing to us. Here are just a few bits of info you might like to know about them...
Tyler and Ali and their boys are as busy as ever. Their oldest son, Soren, graduated from high school last year and is now in an audio engineering program in Nashville, TN. Osten continues to love sports and got his driver's license this year. Luca loves skateboarding and snowboarding and has developed some serious skills. Ali continues to do good work in the student admissions department of UNW in St. Paul. Tyler has been very busy recording and touring with the band, Need-to-Breathe. We're so grateful for the loving and supportive family they are for each other.
Page and Sara are doing well and have completed some impressive home improvement projects over the last year. Of course, they both keep pretty busy with their jobs too. Sara is the gallery director for the Highpoint Center for Printmaking in Minneapolis. They are such fun and creative people, and we are very thankful for their sweet relationship. We love every opportunity to spend time with them.
Jack and Sarah Jean have been enjoying their first year as homeowners. We're excited for them and have already enjoyed some sweet times in their new home. Sarah Jean continues to emply her artistic skills in the local film industry. Never a dull moment with this couple. We're glad Jack and Sarah Jean have each other and enjoy their shared life. And we’re glad they share it with us!
Page and Jack continue to pursue their music careers as The Cactus Blossoms. The pandemic has been hard on musicians, but they've been working hard and have managed to keep things going. We're excited to hear the new album they'll be releasing in February 2022.
Keep in touch as you're able! Best wishes for the New Year!
